Designated Marksman

September 7th-11th (Price $375)

The Designated Marksman course is designed to educate, train, and prepare law enforcement and provide them the skills to fill the tactical gap between a Patrol Rifle application and a SWAT sniper. This three -day course prepares LEO’s  for the role to effectively employ the tools for the job. In-depth discussions develop understanding of rifle, optics and other equipment of the DM. Additionally, the student will be introduced to basic range estimation. Students are challenged to make progress and engaging appropriately sized targets up to at least 300 yards.

Students should expect moderate physical activity to include running from firing point to firing point with necessary equipment. Shooting from unconventional positions can be mildly strenuous.


On-site lodging is available at a rate of $50 dollars PER NIGHT and encouraged due to the distance to off-site lodging. The facility is equipped with bunk rooms, a full kitchen and grill, restrooms with showers, and a living and dining area. Bunk rooms are SHARED spaces.

Please indicate how many nights you will stay on-site by indicating quantity (nights) and adding to cart along with registration for the course. The lodging for, will ask you to select an arrival and departure date; please make sure this aligns with the number of nights indicated. We ask that you arrive no earlier than the day prior to the course and leave no later than the day the course concludes.

EXAMPLE:
Arrival Date - September 6; Departure Date - September 11; 5 nights at $50 = $250

EQUIPMENT NEEDED & PROPER ATTIRE:

• AR-type .308 or .300 BLACKOUT preferred (5.56 Rifle ok), ammunition and data combination capable of +/- 1.5 MOA precision
• Magnified optic of at least 1-4X (1-6X or 1-8X preferred for positive facial ID)
• 2-3 magazines
• Eye and ear protection
• Clothing suitable to the climate/weather
• Footwear suitable to movement and load bearing
• Water
• Load bearing pack
• Note taking material

SHOULD HAVES:

• Bipod or front bag
• Sling
• Snacks
• Shooting rear bag/sock
• Suitable headgear
• Databook

Ammo:

• Approximately 500 Match Grade/Tactical duty rounds
• Match grade ammunition is usually available for purchase at the Epping, NH facility in the following calibers:
• .223 (usually 75 and 77 grain)
• .308 (168 and 175 grain)
• .300 BO (110 grain, 125 grain)

LAST DAY TO REGISTER IS August 15th (call if you miss the cutoff date). Any cancellation must be received 30 days prior to the start date. Any cancellation after this period will incur the full cost of the registration, unless otherwise approved by TOG.
